FAQ

Questions Overseas Buyers Ask Before Ordering

Answers compiled by our application and after-sales engineers from real distributor and end-user enquiries.

Ask an Engineer
What materials can a UV flatbed printer print on?
A UV flatbed printer prints directly on rigid substrates such as acrylic, PVC foam board, aluminium composite (Dibond), metal, glass, ceramic tile, wood, corrugated cardboard and leather. Glass, metal and ceramic usually need an adhesion primer for maximum scratch resistance.
What is the difference between a UV flatbed, roll-to-roll and hybrid printer?
A flatbed holds rigid boards on a vacuum table; a roll-to-roll printer feeds flexible media such as banner, vinyl and canvas from roll to roll; a hybrid printer uses a conveyor or roller system so one machine handles both rigid sheets and flexible rolls.
Which printheads do Winscolor UV printers use?
Printhead configuration depends on the model. The YC2513L flatbed, for example, is offered with industrial Ricoh Gen6 piezo printheads in a CMYK + LC + LM + White + Varnish configuration. Contact our sales team for the configuration that matches your output volume.
Can Winscolor printers print white ink and 3D varnish effects?
Yes. Models configured with white and varnish channels can lay down a white underbase for transparent or dark media and build up gloss varnish layers for raised, tactile 3D effects.
Do you support overseas buyers after installation?
Winscolor provides remote video training, online troubleshooting and spare parts supply for overseas customers. See the Global Service page for details.
